Mastering Emotional Eating

This workshop is divided into three segments. All three can be delivered in one intensive course or over successive sessions.

Emotional Eating 101 - Cultivating awareness and understanding our emotional eating habits and patterns. This is an absolutely essential step in overcoming emotional eating. You must be willing really look at yourself and your habits in order to overcome them.

Emotional Eating 102 - Does pleasure equal happiness? Food is and should be pleasurable; there is nothing wrong with that. Taking pleasure in our food is a natural and desirable thing. It is when the desperate need for the pleasure takes over that it can actually end up destroying happiness in the long run.

Emotional Eating 103 - What are you holding onto that is weighing you down and feeding your emotional eating habit? A lot of emotional eating is about unresolved feelings we are carrying around with us and not dealing with. What do you need to let go of in your life in order to let go of your extra weight?

  • The "Battle of the Bulge" mentality is the WRONG approach

This is a very common expression and it really underlines the veritable war we are waging against ourselves and bodies. Thinking of this as a battle of something we have to fight really hard for is self- defeating. Expect a hard up-hill battle and that is exactly what you will get! It doesn’t have to be this way and I can tell you that from personal experience. Learn to let go of this “its soooo hard” mentality and allow yourself to release the weight more easily.

  • Your self-definition and self- talk are affecting your weight and holding you back.

Most people who have dealt with weight issues are very much defined by them. Even when they are no longer at an unhealthy weight they still think of themselves in the same negative way. I know I did this myself. The very way we think about and define ourselves can hold us back from reaching the goals we set for ourselves. They become self-fulfilling prophecies. You are what you think. How thoughts create stress and what you can do about it.

Stress, it seems we can't get away from it and the consequences it has on our productivity, health, relationships and general quality of life. We all experience it, but some are better able to manage it than others. Believe it or not you contribute to, and often create stress for yourself simply by way of your thinking.

In this workshop you will learn HOW your thoughts affect your experience of stress and to identify your counteractive thinking patterns. Once you understand the process you can actually do something about it! This is the good stuff. You will learn simple cognitive techniques to rein in your thoughts and transform counteractive into effective, productive thinking.

You will be amazed at the dramatic difference this can make on your stress level. With practice this shift of focus can TURN STRESS INTO SUCCESS.

Discover the technique that works BEST for YOU.

This workshop is designed with the beginner in mind, taking the mystery out of meditation and making it approachable for anyone. Introducing 4 different methods we give participants a taste of the variety available and allow them to explore what is most effective for their individual needs.
A great way to get in touch with my inner self, a wonderful basis to move forward. I didn't realize there were so many ways to meditate. I liked the small group, it felt very personal. I will definately recommend this.
